Operation Hometown Hello delivers 5,000 pounds of items to Pennsylvania National Guard troops serving overseas.

This July, Turkey Hill introduced a new program called Operation Hometown Hello to support the men and women of the Pennsylvania National Guard serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Donation boxes were placed in the 247 Turkey Hill Minit Market locations throughout Eastern, Central and Southern Pennsylvania. Customers and area residents were invited to bring in a donation or purchase an item in-store for Pennsylvania National Guard troops serving overseas.

Operation Hometown Hello from Turkey Hill to benefit Pennsylvania National Guard troops serving overseas

Donations collected at Minit Market locations during July to be sent to the 6,000 men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan

The month of July marks celebrations of independence and the United States of America. This year, July will also mark a new program called Operation Hometown Hello to support the men and women of the Pennsylvania National Guard serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Operation Hometown Hello will offer Pennsylvania residents a chance to make donations to Guard members at one of the 250 Turkey Hill Minit Market locations throughout Eastern, Central and Southern Pennsylvania. Supporters can bring in a donation or purchase an item in-store to be included in donation boxes located in each Minit Market store. Turkey Hill Dairy will then collect each donation box and, along with the Minit Markets, cover shipping costs for all items to be sent to Pennsylvania National Guard members serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Turkey Hill Dairy helped the Philadelphia Phillies raise record donations for ALS.

Each year, the Philadelphia Phillies host an annual event, with the help of its partners, to raise money for helping defeat ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). The event, the Phillies Phestival, brought more than 5,500 fans to Citizen Bank Park on June 22, 2009.

Turkey Hill Dairy and other stadium partners donated items to help the team raise money for this great cause. The Turkey Hill Giant Cow and its team delivered a donation which included Phillies Graham Slam Ice Cream cups and 20 oz. bottles of Turkey Hill Iced Tea.

In addition to the donated food being sold with proceeds going to the charity, many items were sold at an auction, like autographed balls and jerseys. By the end of the Phestival, a record was set with $867,670 going to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ALSO Associated for research and patient services.

2009 Turkey Hill Country Classic to benefit Lancaster Farmland Trust

Annual event of races and fun has raised more than $39,000 for beneficiary partner

The Turkey Hill 10th annual Country Classic will be May 2, 2009 in Manor Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The Country Classic features the annual Baby Derby and the "Running of the Heifers." Other scheduled events include a 5K Run, 10K Run, Kids' Run, 10K Relay Race Run, Elite Men's Bike Race, Intermediate Men's Bike Race, Masters Bike Race and Women's Bike Race. At the Central Manor Church of God, heifers will try to show up the thoroughbreds in Kentucky with their very own four-legged race. There will also be babies crawling to the finish line. The first one to reach the finish line will be crowned Lancaster County's fastest babe.

Proceeds from the 2009 Country Classic will benefit the Lancaster Farmland Trust. Founded in 1988 by the county's citizens, the Trust is dedicated to protecting Lancaster County, its land and its heritage. Turkey Hill has sponsored the County Classic for 10 years, raising more than $39,000.
