Operation Hometown Hello
Turkey Hill Dairy and Turkey Hill Minit Markets are proud to announce Operation Hometown Hello, a new month-long promotion in July, 2009 to support our friends, family members, neighbors and colleagues serving in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
Operation Hometown Hello will run from July 1 through July 31 and offers people a chance to make donations to Pennsylvania National Guard members serving overseas by visiting the 250 Turkey Hill Minit Market locations throughout Eastern, Central and Southern Pennsylvania.
Supporters are invited to bring a donation to the store or purchase something at the Minit Market stores. Turkey Hill Dairy will then collect the donations and, along with the Minit Markets, pay for shipping costs for all the items to be sent to Pennsylvania National Guard members serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Unfortunately, it's too hot to send our ice cream or refrigerated tea. But, there are many other items our troops would appreciate. Representatives from the Pennsylvania National Guard have provided a list of the other top-ten items most requested by members serving overseas. Top choices include individual snacks and candies (non-chocolate, because of the heat) that can fit into a pocket so Guard members can take the items while they're on the go. Some non-food items such as personal sized notebooks, pens, pencils, magazines and individual-size personal hygiene products are also top choices for the men and women serving overseas.
